IPL 2020 will get underway from September 19 with its final being played on November 10. The lucrative tournament will be played for the second time in UAE. However, the fixtures are still to be confirmed, but it looks like Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will face off against Mumbai Indians in the inaugural contest.

CSK have been the most consistent side in the IPL. Though their arch-rivals from Mumbai have dominated the race to the title race. CSK have made it a point to reach the playoffs almost every year. Their senior Australian opener Shane Watson believes that with plenty of spinners in the rank, the pitch in UAE will favour their side, as they are dry.

“It definitely will. The pitches are going to be on the slower side. We have some high-quality spinners in our side and we should be able to capitalize,” Shane Watson told the Times of India.

“There is no doubt that the Yellow Army will be supporting us from far as they always do. It’s going to be a different experience and I will miss the rush that the crowds in Chennai always gave me. Having said that, we are playing for high stakes as the IPL is the best T20 tournament in the world and we have to quickly adapt,” he added.

All eyes will be on CSK as their captain MS Dhoni will be making a comeback to competitive cricket. He has led the franchise to three title triumphs thus far.
Dhoni had begun preparations for IPL 2020 in a month advance. However, the novel coronavirus pandemic situation, disrupted the scenes with the IPL 2020 now set to get underway in September in UAE.
