Chennai Super Kings’ wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billings has flown back to England to be part of his domestic side Kent.

He will also be playing his first game of the ongoing Royal London One-Day cup today against Glamorgan in Cardiff.

The 27-year-old was a part of CSK in IPL 2019.

Billings was dismissed on a duck and was out of the playing XI as Dhoni returned for the next match.

The right-handed batsman was retained by the franchise for IPL 2019.

Last year, he played 10 matches and scored 108 runs.

Billings missed out on a place in World Cup squad but is a part of the team for the ODI against Ireland that will be played on May 3.

He will also be playing one-off T20I against Pakistan after the Ireland ODI.

Billings is neither a part of the ODI team for Pakistan ODIs nor for the World Cup 2019.

Though he can make a place in the side if England make changes to the squad.

Despite him not being part of international fixtures during the final week of IPL, Billings may not return to India.

In past, England’s players have flown back to India after performing international duty but this might not be the case this time.

Billings’ addition to Kent’s side for today’s fixture comes as a big boost.

Kent will also be playing Pakistan in a practice match on Saturday and Billings will get extra exposure prior to the international season.

Few of England’s players are set to follow Billings to England.

Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes will be playing their last match of IPL 2019 today.

Archer is a part of pre-World Cup series and will have a chance to make it to the World Cup squad if he performs against Pakistan.

Stokes is set to play an essential role for England.

Jos Buttler has already flown back to England.

He had an early departure due to the birth of his first child.

He was scheduled to play his last match of IPL 2019 today but had to leave the tournament early.

IPL will further lose star factor as Steve Smith and David Warner will also leave the tournament by May 1.

Along with them, Marcus Stoinis will also fly back to the country.

Likes of Chris Gayle and Andre Russell will continue to play the league despite West Indies playing a tri-series during last phase of IPL.
