Australia are all set to resume action in cricket with a short limited-overs tour of England. The series between the two countries will also bring an end to England’s home season. Australia have not played a game since the ODI against New Zealand on March 13 as action around the world was called off in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

International cricket finally resumed earlier this month with the ongoing three-match Test series between England and West Indies. Both the teams are currently playing the third Test after winning one Test each so far. After the ongoing series, England will host Pakistan for a Test and T20I series.

Dates for England-Australia series:

England are all ready to host Australia and are waiting for the confirmation from the latter’s government before formally announcing the schedule, according to Mail Online. The report claimed that the English summer is set to end with the last of three ODIs against Australia at Old Trafford on September 16.

Australia are likely to get the green light from their government as they have already announced their 26-man squad for the tour. The report further stated the schedule for the series too. The T20I series will be played at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton while the ODI series will be played in Manchester.

The three T20Is will be played on the 4th, 6th and 8th September before three ODIs take place on the 11th, 13th and 16th. Following the series, players from both the countries are set to leave for the UAE to take part in the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). IPL 2020 is scheduled to start from September 19.
