David Warner Reacts After Sunrisers Hyderabad Pledge Rs 10 Crore Towards Coronavirus Relief Fund

With the rise of the global pandemic coronavirus, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had set-up a PM relief fund for volunteers to contribute. And, post the set-up, contributions have galore as Indians from all walks of life have come together in solidarity to help the marginalized sections of the society.
And, the cricketers have also joined the Nobel cause to the hilt. Suresh Raina pledged Rs 52 Lakh where he stated that he would be transferring Rs 31 Lakh towards the PM-Cares fund and the remaining amount to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Disaster Relief Fund.

On Thursday, Sunriser Hyderabad’s owner Sun Group announced on Twitter that they will be contributing a sum of Rs 10 Crore. However, they did not state in which fund that they’ll be donating.

Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar lead the way with contributions among cricketers towards PM-Care Relief Fund
Coming back to the contributions made by Indian cricketers, the legendary duo of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and the current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has pledged Rs 50 Lakh each towards the PM-Care Fund.
The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has pledged Rs 25 Lakh towards the state relief fund. Taking a leap out of CAB’s book, Maharashtra Cricket Association and Saurashtra Cricket Association have also pledged towards contributing to their respective state funds.

Earlier, the apex cricketing body in the country, the Board of Control for Cricket in India [BCCI] had announced that they will be donating a sum of Rs 51 Crore towards the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund. The Fund was set-up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a bid to contribute towards strengthening the nation’s disaster management capacities.
India is currently under a 21-day lockdown and with the situation escalating in the past week, the isolation period might extend following the culmination of the current lockdown.
