David Warner who recently made a comeback to competitive cricket played with a new bat sponsor in the Global T20 League.
Warner who had played with a Gray-Nicholls bat for almost a decade sported a Spartan bat on his return. Thus, it could be an indication that Warner has struck a new deal with Spartan.
However, Warner didn’t have the ideal comeback, as he was bowled on the second ball by Lasith Malinga for just one.
According to the Spartan website, Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Kevin Pietersen, Michael Clarke, Chris Gayle, Viv Richards and Wasim Akram are Spartan ambassadors.
In fact, we have seen former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni and the Windies southpaw Chris Gayle using the Spartan bat.
Meanwhile, David Warner has smashed many records while playing with his Kaboom bat. The combative southpaw batsman has thus far scored 35 International centuries in his career.
Furthermore, Warner is the leading run-getter for Australia in the shortest format of the game.
In fact, Warner is playing for Winnipeg Hawks in the ongoing Global T20 Canada league. The left-hander is grateful to the opportunity he has received.
“Good to be back out in the field with a smile on my face. These tournaments are exciting, just like the IPL or the Big Bash League. I’m grateful for this opportunity,” Warner said.
Meanwhile, it has been a difficult three months for David Warner. He has been under the scrutiny after the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa early this year. However, Warner is looking forward to learning from his mistakes.
Warner will look to impress in his second outing for the Winnipeg Hawks when the team will take on Vancouver Knights on Sunday. Thus, the former Australian deputy will eye to hit the ground running with his new blade.
