Quinton de Kock Ruled Out Of Zimbabwe Test; To Be Fit For India Series

South Africa wicketkeeper-batsman, Quinton de Kock, has been ruled out from the ongoing Test match against Zimbabwe. Quinton de Kock suffered a hamstring strain on day 1 of the game and did not take the field later. He underwent scans which cleared him of any injury, but de Kock will not play any role in the ongoing Test match,

“He will continue to receive treatment with the physio but won’t take the field for the rest of the match. The medical team is confident he’ll recover in time for the first match against India,” said a CSA spokesperson.

Comeback man, AB de Villiers is keeping wickets for De Kock. The former is also leading the side after Faf du Plessis was ruled out due to viral infection. He (De Villiers) was making his comeback to Test cricket after 23 months.

In the ongoing game, Quinton de Kock is the third causality to the team as earlier, Du Plessis and Dale Steyn were ruled out of the contest due to viral fever, and the wicketkeeper joined the list soon.

Though there are no clouds over his participation in the three-match Test series against India and he will be fit in time for the much-awaited series.

India's squad for SA tour 2018

The members of team India have also assembled in Mumbai to depart for the tour and will board the flight in the wee hours on December 28. Along with them, the players of India U19 will board the flight till Dubai.

Team India is not scheduled to play any practice game in South Africa and instead, will be taking part in practice sessions. The first Test of the tour will be played from January 5 to 9 in Cape Town. The series comprises of three Tests, six ODIs and three T20Is in total.

Four extra pace bowlers viz Ankit Rajpoot, Avesh Khan, Mohammed Siraj and Basil Thampi are also accompanying team India on tour. They will share the workload with five pacers in the side and can always come in the squad in case of any injury to any player.
