Young fast bowler Deepak Chahar blew away the Bangladesh batting as India took the honours 2-1 in three-match Twenty20 International series. Chahar returned with six for seven from 3.2 overs as the host won the game by 30 runs in Nagpur.

The host managed to post 174 runs after put to bat first. Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul shared a much-needed partnership after losing the opener’s early. Both of them scored their individual fifties and a late blitz from Manish Pandey helped India register a decent score on the board.
Bangladesh got off to a flying start but Deepak Chahar helped them bounce back. Mohammad Naim started to take on the bowlers but lacked support from the other end. The last few overs of the match completely belonged to India where Chahar and young Shivam Dube dominated with the ball. Chahar registered the best ever T20I figures – six for seven while Dube returned with three scalps.

The fast bowler from Rajasthan also became the first-ever Indian to pick a hattrick in the shortest format of the game. Deepak Chahar removed Shafiul Islam off the last delivery of the 18th over and then returned to dismiss Mustafizur Rahman and Aminul Islam of the first two balls of the 20th over to complete his hat-trick.
On a day when Chahar rediscovered himself, fans credited former India skipper MS Dhoni behind his success. Dhoni has closely monitored the rise of the 28-year-old pacer while playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League. The CSK skipper brought Deepak Chahar to Chennai from Rising Pune Supergiant and gave enough time to become the diamond that he is today.
