Massive Blow For Delhi Capitals As Ishant Sharma Suffers Injury During Training

Delhi Capitals suffered a massive setback ahead of their IPL 2020 opener as senior India fast bowler Ishant Sharma injured himself during a training. According to a report in Cricbuzz, Ishant Sharma can be sidelined for a long period of time after he injured his back during a training in Dubai on the eve of their opening contest.
Ishant Sharma has faced a number of injuries in the recent past and had to be sidelined for the same reason. He took the last blow during January, when he injured his ankle and then returned to play in New Zealand before taking a blow in the same area, all over again. The repeated injuries comes as a major cause of concern for the 32-year-old Delhi fast bowler.
Ishant will be kept under supervision of the medical staffs and his recovery progress will be tracked. He was supposed to be a key man for the Delhi franchise and spearhead their bowling attack. A lot will depend upon South Africa fast bowler Kagiso Rabada now to put up a show for his franchise.
Ishant has grown through the ranks to become a senior fast bowler for India. He has not been a regular in limited-overs but Ishant has led the charge for India in the Tests.
His last Test appearance for India came in their tour to New Zealand where the visitors faced a drubbing but Ishant picked up a five-wicket haul in testing conditions. He was also a part of the national team which clinched the first-ever Test series victory Down Under.
Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, reached the IPL playoffs for the first time in the previous edition. They will hope for a better result under the coaching of Ricky Ponting and a young side led by Shreyas Iyer.
