Dimuth Karunratne and Jason Holder Achieve Career-high Test Ranking

Sri Lankan opener Dimuth Karunaratne and Windies skipper Jason Holder have been rewarded for their brilliant performances in their respective Test matches.
Both have achieved the highest ranking in their career owing to the MRF Tyres’ ICC Player Rankings. They were instrumental in their side’s victory in respective Test against South Africa and Bangladesh.
The left-handed batsman Karunaratne scored a magnificent 158 in the opening Test against South Africa as the visitors succumbed to a huge defeat. He followed up his efforts in the first innings with a 60 in the second essay.
Karunratne moved up the 10 position in the latest ICC Test rankings for batsmen. He leapfrogged 21 places. For the first time, he has broken into the top 10.
The Windies leader Holder bagged six wickets for just 44 runs against Bangladesh as Windies registered a huge victory by 166 runs. He is now at the 13th position in the ranking.
The Sri Lankan opener Karunaratne is currently the second highest ranked batsman in the Sri Lankan team. Dinesh Chandimal is still the highest ranked Lankan batter occupying the ninth position.

Karunaratne collected 128 points
Dimuth Karunratne collected 128 points from the Galle Test. Holder’s heroics helped him to earn 98 points. He is just 11 points behind the twelfth ranked Shanon Gabriel.
Top-order batsman Kraigg Brathwaite has also made strides in the rankings. He has moved to 13th spot while Shakib Al Hasan has moved to twelfth.
Rangana Herath and Dilruwan Perera, who bowled quite brilliantly in the opening Test against South Africa moved to eighth and 25th position respectively.
Holder for the first time entered the top five for all-rounders. Former Aussie skipper Steven Smith leads the batting chart while speedster Kagiso Rabada leads bowlers rankings and Shakib is the top-ranked all-rounder.
