Former West Indies allrounder Dwayne Bravo is reportedly set to skip next year’s Big Bash League. The allrounder plies his trade for Melbourne Stars but has reportedly decided not to represent them in the forthcoming season. Bravo continues to be one of the most sought after T20 players across the globe. His reliable batting in the middle-order and the impressive bowling in addition to his electric fielding makes him one of the best allrounders in the game at the moment.

Bravo is currently plying his trade for Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing Indian Premier League. He has once again played a pivotal role in Super Kings’ march to the playoffs.  In 8 matches so far, he has already picked up 9 wickets in addition to scoring 64 runs while coming lower down the order.

According to report in Foxsports.com.au, Bravo, a popular face in the BBL, has told close friends and teammates he won’t return to Australia to play for the Melbourne Stars as far back as January. The report further claimed that the Stars  are aware of Bravo’s intentions although the latter has not notified them officially. Consequently, the club has started searching for other option to replace the allrounder.

In any case, Bravo was out of contract at the Stars and he was voicing his frustrations with the length of the tournament as early as January.  Perhaps this was the reason why Bravo did not seek a contract extension from the Stars. Bravo’s departure, nonetheless, will be another blow to BBL.  The league has already lost the likes of Shane Watson (Sydney Thunder) and Colin Ingram (Adelaide Strikers) and Brendon McCullum (Brisbane Heat).

Bravo is more interested in exploring other options and could get a bumper deal in the Bangladesh Premier League. Last year for Stars, Bravo grabbed 16 wickets with an economy of 7.97 while scoring at an average of just 14 with no half centuries from 12 knocks.
