Dwayne Bravo was part of Trinbago Knight Riders that clinched their fourth title this year. Kieron Pollard’s men did so by beating St Lucia Zouks in the final at Tarouba by eight wickets and remained unbeaten throughout the leg. Bravo took nine wickets in ten games at 26.66 with a credible economy rate of 7.50, reaching 500 T20 wickets as well. In IPL, he is the fifth-highest wicket-taker with 147 wickets in 134 fixtures, winning the purple cap twice.

Dwayne Bravo, who has reached the UAE, revealed during a question and answer session with ESPN Cricinfo that he has developed a new slower ball, which he will use in the IPL. The 36-year old uses his deceptive slower balls to great effect to bamboozle the batsmen in death overs and is a go-to bowler for MS Dhoni.

“I developed a new slower ball, so I’m looking to use it in the IPL,” Bravo told ESPN Cricinfo.

The veteran seam-bowling all-rounder also opened up on his best IPL knock so far, when he struck a breezy 68 against Mumbai Indians in the opening match of IPL 2018. It was the yellow army’s first match after a two-year ban as they found themselves in trouble in pursuit of 166. At the departure of Mark Wood in the 17th over, the then two-time champions were 118-8, staring an inevitable defeat.

With Bravo at the crease, he took the attack to the opposition, taking the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell McClenaghan, and Mustafizur Rahman to the cleaners. He departed in the 19th over after a 30-ball knock laced with three fours and seven towering sixes at the Wankhede Stadium. Kedar Jadhav hit the winning runs to script a stunning one-wicket victory.
