ENG VS IND 2018: Ajinkya Rahane Feels Pacers are Ready to Leave an Impact in England

We are just two days away from the beginning of the first Test between India and England. It is slated to be played at Edgbaston in Birmingham on August 1st. India has a very strong team this time around. The Vice-captain of the Test team Ajinkya Rahane feels the pace attack, in particular, is a lot more experienced now compared to when they visited England in 2014.
The fast bowling department of India has obviously done wonders for the team in the recent past. Even during the series against South Africa, they were at their lethal best.
Pertinently, India managed to scalp all the 60 South African wickets earlier this year. The majority of the wickets were taken by the fast bowlers. Mohammed Shami was quite spectacular in the final Test in Johannesburg which India won in tough conditions.
The likes of Umesh Yadav have also come along a long way and has bowled quite brilliantly. He has bowled his heart out and has generated steep pace.
Addressing the press conference ahead of the opening Test, Rahane revealed how the Indian pacers have shaped up brilliantly in the recent times.
Ajinkya Rahane heaps praise on Ishant Sharma:
Rahane heaped praises on Ishant Sharma, who has played a few county matches ahead of the tour. He was the Man of the Match when India won the only Test in England at Lord’s in their previous tour in 2014.
Rahane also mentioned about Jasprit Bumrah, who will be available for selection from the second Test onwards.
Eventually, Rahane was asked by the reporters about his feeling and inclination towards Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami.
“I feel the pace bowlers are very experienced now. I mean [Mohammed] Shami and Umesh [Yadav] they were here [England] in 2014 as well. They have been doing so well for us not only in India but outside India as well,” Rahane said.
“If you see South Africa we got 60 wickets. Especially our fast bowlers bowled really well. So for them definitely it is a challenge to bowl in England but I am really confident about them. Not only Umesh and Shami but Ishant too,” he added.
“He {Ishant] came here and played some county games. We have Jasprit Bumrah as well. So we have an attack which can trouble the opposition. But as I mentioned it will be a challenge for them to bowl patiently and bowl in the right areas for a long period of time,” Rahane said.
