The Indian selectors will pick the squad for the first three Test matches against England, which begins on August 1st in Birmingham.
Therefore, based on the performance of the players in the first three matches, the squad can get altered for the remaining two Test matches. Furthermore, the Indian selectors can also make their changes if there are any injury woes.

The Test squad will be announced soon.
Meanwhile, Wriddhiman Shaha is set to miss the England tour, as he hasn’t recovered from his thumb injury. Dinesh Karthik is likely to replace him. Furthermore, it would be interesting to note whether Jasprit Bumrah will make the cut into the squad.
However, a BCCI official confirmed Bumrah should be fit for the second Test match.
“See, this is not a three-game series. In such a case, you ideally pick the squad and then you proceed. But in a long five-match series, you don’t wish to pick the squad at one go. Some of the players who might be sore or have an injury and are progressing well will come into the picture as and when they are fit. Like Bumrah is certain to need time to be fit till the second Test,” a source said while talking to CricketNext.
Meanwhile, India’s skipper Virat Kohli had said he is tempted to play Kuldeep and Chahal in the Test matches. Subsequently, the source has said the current form would be taken into consideration.

“Some of the young names are sure to be discussed, but it is too early to say who will get the nod and who will not. But performances are bound to be taken into account when the wise men sit down.”
India will take on England Lions in a four-day unofficial Test match on Monday at Worcester. Furthermore, India will play one more warm-up match against Essex on July 25 at Chelmsford.
