ENG vs IND, 2018: India’s Probable Squad for England Tests

India has an arduous task ahead as the visitors get ready to face challenging England led by Joe Root. The five-match Test series is all set to take place from first August. The first Test match will be played at Birmingham in Edgbaston.
The much-awaited Test series holds a great locale due to its popularity over another format. In fact, in England, the success of a tour is determined by the results of the longest format.

The supreme body of cricket in India, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to reveal the squad of test team in a couple of days time.
Well, let us have a look at the players who could make it to Indian squad ahead of this crucial series.
Openers: Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Murali Vijay
As far as the opening slot is concerned, it will be a tough job for national selectors with respect to the above names.
KL Rahul is in his prime form while as Shikhar Dhawan is looking little out of touch. As for as Murali Vijay is concerned, being a red-ball specialist, he is most likely to make it.

Middle-order: Chesteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma
Talking about the middle order, Cheteshwar Pujara will get a task to remain solid and save an end so that the player on the opposite end can free arms respectively.
Furthermore, his county experience for Yorkshire will be his plus point this time around.
Unlike in South Africa, team leader Virat Kohli will be optimistic to get a helping hand from others this time.
Ajinkya Rahane is a more of Test specialist and he will find his place along with in-form Rohit Sharma. However, the position of Rohit in the playing XI will definitely be a tough choice.

All-rounder: Hardik Pandya
While having Hardik Pandya, India will not afford to drop this man. Pandya has already shown his intent that he is a big prospect for Team India.
Wicket-keepers: Dinesh Karthik and Parthiv Patel
As the regular Test wicket-keeper is going to miss the series due to Injury, India needs to find the replacement. As far as reports are concerned, management has asked Dinesh Karthik to stay there as he is in England with the members of the limited-overs team.
Parthiv Patel maybe the second option to replace injured Wriddhiman Saha.
Seamers: Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma

It will be a tough ask for selectors to go with either Jasprit Bumrah or Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Both are currently out due to an injury respectively.
Speedster Umesh Yadav will be optimistic to continue his limited-overs form at the Test circuit as well. Having the county experience, Ishant Sharma is most likely to be in.
Spinners:

Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav:
Kohli and company will be hoping a similar kind of show from Kuldeep which he displayed in the limited-overs format.
Kuldeep is likely to get a partner in the form of experienced Ashwin. Ashwin is having county experience as well and this may prove a plus point for India
