The former India wicketkeeper, Kiran More has urged the team management to include both Pandya brothers in playing XI against England in T20Is.
In fact, Hardik Pandya is sure to make his appearance while there are doubts over Krunal’s place. The elder brother, Krunal received his maiden call-up to the Indian team after Washington Sundar got ruled out due to an injury.
Consequently, the southpaw all-rounder reaped fruits for good run of form in the last two seasons of the Indian Premier League.
Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar was also able to break into the Indian team in place of injured Jasprit Bumrah.
It will be an excellent opportunity for Krunal.
“Krunal is a batting allrounder. I would call him a game changer-cum-finisher. So, if he is made to play India would not only bat deep but also get six bowlers. There will be less pressure on the bowling unit with Bumrah not playing the T20 series,” More said as quoted by TOI.
In fact, More is the childhood coach of both Pandya brothers. The former gloveman is delighted to see Krunal making it big in his career.
The former India selector went on to add left-hander was able to impress in the India A side. Thus, he deserves his chances in the senior national team.
“Nearly 20 years ago, I had predicted about Krunal making it big. I am really happy to see him at the highest level. Not only IPL alone, his India A performances also played a big role in getting him where he is today. Even India A coach Rahul Dravid gave a good report to the Indian team management about Krunal,” More said.
Furthermore, More is confident that Krunal will prove his mettle if he is given his chance in the Indian team.
“If he is given a chance to prove his worth, he will definitely make it big,” he added.
Krunal Pandya had performed brilliantly at the domestic level. Thus, he has received his opportunity. The all-rounder will be raring to go if he is given a chance in England.
