Krunal Pandya was awarded his maiden international call-up when he got included in the Indian squad for the three-matches T20I series against England.
It will be a massive day for Krunal and his whole family. The all-rounder has been an asset for the Mumbai Indians over the past three years. Hence, his inclusion in India’s limited-overs squad was always on the cards.
Krunal performed quite admirably for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Despite his impressive showing, his franchise couldn’t quite make it through to the playoffs this year. The elder of the Pandya brothers was excited and honoured after he got named in the Indian squad.
“Really honoured to be picked to represent India in the upcoming T20Is. It’s something I’ve worked hard for, and I feel blessed,” Krunal wrote.

Krunal has been an asset to any T20 team
The all-rounder has been a consistent performer for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. He is a very intelligent left-arm orthodox spinner who can control the game in the middle overs.
Krunal had bagged the wicket of AB de Villiers on all four occasions he had bowled to ABD in the IPL. He has been a tricky customer to face when he is the middle of a good spell.
As a batsman, Krunal can adjust to the conditions of the match and play accordingly. The southpaw struck a magnificent knock of 49 for the Mumbai Indians in the final of the 2017 IPL which eventually helped them lift the title. He has played quite a few gutsy knocks and will be a good inclusion for India in the lower middle-order.
Krunal is a pretty good outfielder as well. Some of the catches he had taken in the IPL were world class.
Moreover, the left-hander will get an opportunity to share the dressing room with his brother Hardik who has already made a name for himself as an international player.
Krunal and Hardik might go on to become one of the very few brothers to represent their nation together in international cricket.
