Team India wicket-keeper batsman, MS Dhoni became the first keeper to take 50 catches in T20I cricket in the 3rd T20I against England in Bristol.

MS Dhoni shines in Bristol

Grabbing Jos Buttler’s catch off Siddharth Kaul led him to scale the feat in the shortest format of the game. Also, MS Dhoni in the series-decider at Bristol took five catches and affected a run-out as well.

Dhoni has been a street smart wicket-keeper ever since. Despite not boasting the copybook technique both as a batsman and a wicket-keeper, his street-smart instincts have always separated him from his peers.

Second on the list is Windes keeper, Dinesh Ramdin. However, his dismissal tally in just 34 and 16 less than Dhoni’s.

Quinton de Kock occupies the 3rd spot with 30 dismissals. Both Ramdin and De Kock have represented Windies and the Proteas with authority over the years. Kamran Akmal, the Pakistan wicket-keeper is at the 4th position while Wesley Barresi of Netherlands occupies the 5th slot with 26 dismissals.

Virat made two changes for the decider

Coming back to the match, Virat Kohli made as many as two changes. Quite strangely Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav were dropped from the playing XI. In their place, Deepak Chahar and Siddharth Kaul made their international debuts.

Virat felt the pitch would assist the pacers a bit. Bristol is a tiny ground hence his decision might have been taken in that sense. England in the first innings scored 198 runs.

Here is the list
