The former India cricketer, VVS Laxman believes India’s T20I series against Ireland was the ideal preparation ahead of the full tour of England, which gets underway on July 3 (Tuesday) at Old Trafford in Manchester.

While the forced inclusion of Krunal Pandya can offer that possibility without weakening the batting, it will be interesting to see if Virat thinks likewise. By strengthening the attack, Virat will have the insurance if one of his bowlers has an off-day,” Laxman added.

Admitting Jasprit Bumrah’s injury a concern, Laxman conceeded that it give Umesh Yadav a chance to continue his T20 comeback. He added India have plenty of options in the bowling department too.
