England Players Make Significant Rise in Latest ICC Rankings After 5-0 Series Win Over Australia

The England players made significance rise in the latest ICC Rankings after inflicting a 5-0 series whitewash against depleted-looking Australia.
It was a terrific all-round performance by England all through the series recently culminated One-day International series.
Meanwhile, Scotland batters Callum MacLeod and Matt Cross also made gains in the rankings. It was a thumping performance by England who went onto prove their favourites tag ahead of the ICC World Cup scheduled to be held in England and Wales, next year.

From the batters, almost all of them made strides in the rankings. Openers in the form of Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow, who have been quite spectacular all through the series gained three and four places respectively.
While Roy moved up to the 20th position, Bairstow occupies the 11th spot. Jos Buttler, who was awarded the Man of the Series also gained two places to be placed on the 16th place. He smashed a scintillating match-winning century in the fifth and the final ODI – to ensure England whitewashed Australia.

Alex Hales also gained one place to jump to 22nd place while skipper Eoin Morgan also moved from one place to a 24th position.
Courtesy 195 runs in the series, Travis Head also moved up three places to 19th.
Meanwhile, English spinners Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali were very consistent all through the series and it reflected in their rankings. Rashid finished the series with 677 rating points which helped him rise to the third number position from the eight position.
Meanwhile, Moeen, who has been quite brilliant shot up to 12th position, gaining three places in the process. He finished with figures of four for 46 in the final match of the series. The English also made improvements in the latest released rankings.
Paceman Mark Wood moved five places to 28th while bowling all-rounder David Willey moved up to 43rd position gaining 23 places.
Kane Richardson’s impressive bowling performance has helped him gain seven positions and move to 77th place.
The 5-0 series defeat reflected in the ICC Rankings as Australia came down to the sixth position due to a relatively below-par performance.
