On a positive note for Ishant, he became the third Indian fast bowler to reach 250 wickets in Test cricket. In total, he is the seventh India bowler to achieve the landmark. Meanwhile, there are other records that didn’t serve well for the lanky pacer.

Overall, Ishant Sharma is the second slowest fast bowler to reach 250 wickets in Test cricket. He surpassed the mark in his 86 Test match. The other slowest bowler to achieve the feat is Jacques Kallis, who finished as the greatest all-rounder for South Africa, who finished with 292 wickets under his kitty.

Following Ishant Sharma, Daniel Vettori is the third slowest bowler to reach 250 Test wickets. He took 81 matches to complete the task. All in all, picking 250 Test wickets is always the most significant achievement for any individual.

Meanwhile, Ishant Sharam reached yet another glorious feat. Picking wickets against England is always a huge ask for any fast bowler. Meanwhile, the lanky pacer completed his 50th wicket by sending Joe Root back to the hut in the first innings on day one.

However, the pacer is also the seventh Indian fast bowler to achieve the feat against England Cricket team in Tests. However, the game at Southampton started on an excellent note for Ishant.

Coming to the career stats of Ishant Sharma, he appeared for India in 86 Test matches and grabbed 250 wickets to his name at an average of 35.05. In limited overs, he played in 80 ODI and 14 T20I games to bag 115 and 8 wickets, respectively.

It would have been a more eventful career for Ishant Sharma. But playing the most part of his games in India, he would hardly get the ball in his hand to take the wickets, as spinners pocketed the most of them.
