England vs India 2018: Dinesh Karthik Will Come Back Strongly - Abhishek Nayar

Dinesh Karthik’s mentor, Abhishek Nayar believes the India wicketkeeper-batsman will come back strongly after getting dropped for the third England Test.
Nayar feels the conditions in the first two Tests were entirely different from the third one in Nottingham, Trent Bridge.
“It’s a team management’s decision. He has played in two Test matches where conditions were tough, and he has not done well. He played one decent innings. It’s not like he has played bad shots, he got out to good deliveries. Failure can happen to any cricketer. Not every story is going to be a fairytale.”
In the first two Tests, Dinesh Karthik was a member of playing XI. However, he displayed a miserable show. His performance with the bat was dismal and eeyorish, as he could only score 21 runs in the four innings.
However, India asked Rishabh Pant to debut in the third Test who grabbed the opportunity with both hands. He became the first India wicket-keeper to pouch five catches on his debut. Besides this, he looked promising with the bat as well.
With the inclusion of Rishabh Pant in the third Test, spells doom for the 33-year old Karthik. India named Dinesh Karthik following the injury of regular wicketkeeper-batsman, Wriddhiman Saha. However, Karthik once again failed to capitalise on the opportunity.
After a glaring performance from Pant, it is unlikely that he will face an axe in the next two Tests.
Abhishek Nayar on other cricketers
Abhishek Nayar feels it was a disappointment tour for everyone except a few like Virat Kohli. He said instead of being disappointed; he has to proud of Dinesh Karthik.
“As far as this tour is concerned, I have zero disappointment. I am only proud of him (Karthik). He has done what he can do best. It obviously has not worked out. In this Test [at Trent Bridge], people are getting runs, and Dinesh is not playing. Whether or not he would do well, that is only a question mark that is going to be left unanswered. The matches where DK played in, we all know how the conditions were and how they bowled. It can happen to the best, but it’s not an excuse. Dinesh will bounce back strongly,” he added
