So far as the five-match Test series is concerned, India has failed to perform poorly apart from the day one of the ongoing Trent Bridge Test. So far as Lord’s Test is related, India faced an embarrassing defeat by an innings and 159 runs. Things were the same in Edgbaston Test where Virat Kohli scored alone 48% of Indian runs. England is 2-0 up in the series. However, Sri Lankan veteran Kumar Sangakkara showers praise on Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane
Till the third Test, 12 players participated in Test series against England, but no one except Virat Kohli could score a ton. Rahane, who is seen as best overseas batsman failed miserably as well.
Though he had a ton at the Lord’s on the previous tour (2014) could not be made any count this time.
The Sri Lankan legendary batsman, Sangakkara feels India should not look at stats in the third Test.
Kohli, who displayed dismal performance in 2014 with an average of 13.4 in 10 innings managed to put a good show this time. In the Edgbaston Test, he amassed 200 runs.

England vs India: Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane are amongst the best: Kumar Sangakkara
Sangakkara feels both Kohli and Rahane are excellent batsmen in the world cricket. He said that the duo needs to focus on the present instead of thinking about the previous performances.
“Kohli and Rahane’s averages away from are outstanding, and stack up with the best in the world. I’m surprised Rahane is averaging only 37 at home, as he is a far better player than that. But, for these Indian batsmen on tour it’s about blocking out all of these stats and concentrating on the job in hand,” Sangakkara said while talking on Sky Sports.
He further said the duo Should not think about anything that cannot get redone overnight. Sanga feels both have a proper technique.
“Don’t worry about technique, worry about what you can control and adjust to,” he added.
On the sidelines of the third Test at Trent Bridge, Sanga said that India needs to put a score around 300. He was talking while sitting in the commentary panel.
“Go out there and score runs, they need to get up to a total of close to 300,” Sangakkara said.
