England vs India 2018: Stats - Virat Kohli Continues to Make Merry in the Test Series

The India skipper, Virat Kohli registers his name on a top position of another batting chart. It seems he loves to enjoy the process of leapfrogging anyone and everyone around.

On a typical day at the office, Virat Kohli toppled the opening batsman of South Africa, Aiden Markram to the second spot when it comes to most runs in Test cricket in this current year.

So far as stats are concerned, Virat Kohli crossed the mark of 660 on the third day of Trent Bridge Test match against England.

Earlier, Aiden Markram was toppling the chart with 660 runs in 18 innings. However, the India captain achieved the milestone with six innings lesser than him.

From the average point of view, Kohli has an average of 61.09, whereas, Markram has just 36.66. The run-machine Kohli from India has two centuries besides four half-centuries in this year so far with a personal best of 153.

On the third spot of the list lies another South African batsman, AB de Villiers. At an average of 53.16, he has 638 runs. ABD has a ton besides six half-centuries in 2018.

Talking of the current England Tests, Virat Kohli had made a merry. He hit his maiden Test ton on the English soil in the Edgbaston game and followed it up with an equally impressive performance in the ongoing Test at Trent Bridge. In the first innings of the third game, the India skipper scored 97 runs, while in the second one he has crossed the 50-run mark already.

However, earlier in 2014, the now India captain had an outing to forget in England. In the five Tests played, Virat had scored just 134 runs at an average of 13.40.
