The umpire gave the soft signal out. However, Joe Root referred the call to the third umpire. The third umpire, Aleem Dar did not get concrete shreds of evidence to turn the decision.

Although some angles suggested, the ball had taken a bump after Rahul collected it, but Aleem decided to stay with on-field decision. Therefore, Joe Root was the fourth wicket to fall. He scored 16 runs which included two fours. This decision will raise some fingers, but India will welcome it anyway.

Soon after Cook perished, Jennings gifted his wicket as well. He handed an easy catch to Rishabh Pant who collected it gracefully. Bumrah dismissed Jennings on 20 with the help of three boundaries.

Ollie Pope was the third wicket to fall, as he deflected the ball that was going towards legs. Ishant Sharma got the second wicket, and it was third catch by Indian wicketkeeper-batsman, Rishabh Pant. Pant dived towards his left to take a sharp catch.
