The moment of mistrust

Paul Walter came running in and bowled a well-directed delivery towards Pandya’s feet. He shuffled across the stumps and whipped it towards the leg side. Pandya immediately set off for a run.

However, Dinesh seemed confused and wasn’t ready to take the single at first. There was a fielder placed at square leg, and Karthik wondered whether it was worth taking the risk.

However, it proved to be an easy single in the end, as the fielder in the square leg region misfielded. Pandya stopped in between the pitch while completing the run. He looked in utter disgust, as for how Dinesh Karthik even gave a 2nd through to the run when it was always on. Hardik was seen making some gesture towards Karthik.

Karthik spoke quite calmly to get the situation back on track. Now coming to the match, India’s first innings ended on 395, whereas, Essex ended second day’s play at 237 for five.
