“MS Dhoni has been, obviously, part of the team since the beginning but I see him as the best finisher in the game. To have been on the field and in the side of the field for so many years and to have just seen him construct innings together and how he has finished games,” the former South African ODI captain said as he showered praise on Dhoni’s ability to handle tough situations and get the job done.
Uncertainty Looms Large Over IPL 2020 Future
With the coronavirus outbreak bringing the world to a standstill, the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was postponed from March 29 to April 15. India is currently on a 21-day lockdown to combat the deadly virus.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is now looking at the October-November window for the IPL. But the move can be possible only if the ICC decides to postpone the men’s T20 World Cup that is to be held later in the year, according to some sources in the board.
On Friday, latest reports suggested that the BCCI is probing into the July window to conduct the IPL and it could take place behind closed doors.
However, all hopes have once again vanished as IPL 2020 has been postponed further after Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced that the lockdown in the country to battle the spread of the coronavirus is extended until May 3.
The BCCI will review the situation only after May 3 when the government comes up with further guidelines regarding the COVID-19 crisis.
