Former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar has once again faced the heat from the fans on Twitter after omitting Ravindra Jadeja from his playing eleven for the upcoming semifinal against New Zealand. All eyes are on Manjrekar since his controversial comment on Jadeja a few days ago. As usual, it was Manjrekar and his bold comments that stared it all. The ex-cricketer-turned-cricketer controversially called Jadeja a ‘bits and pieces’ cricketer.
“I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner,” Sanjay Manjrekar was quoted as saying by IANS.

Unsurprisingly, Manjrekar’s comments had not gone down too well with Jadeja and the latter had given it back to him on Twitter. The India allrounder reminded Manjrekar of his international record and said that he has had enough of his verbal diarrhoea. Manjrekar did not respond to Jadeja’s message but turned heads by picking him up in his playing eleven for the upcoming semifinal after the allrounder’s performance against semifinal.

Manjrekar has now taken a big u-turn on his team and has omitted Jadeja from the same. On the eve of the semifinal clash against New Zealand, Manjrekar posted his Indian XI on Twitter and did not include Jadeja in it. He opined that since the pitch is unused and there are big boundaries, India should recall Kedar Jadhav. In addition to Jadeja, he also dropped Dinesh Karthik. In the bowling department, he went for Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.
Based on the pitch not being worn out, longer boundaries & the opposition’s track record v India. My Indian playing XI for the Semis-
Rohit
Rahul
Virat
Pant
Kedar
Hardik
Dhoni
Kuldeep
Shami
Chahal
Bumrah— Sanjay Manjrekar (@sanjaymanjrekar) July 8, 2019
And it did not take long for his followers to slam him for the team. Most of the followers came down hard on Sanjay Manjrekar for omitting Ravindra Jadeja from the playing eleven.
Here are some of the reactions:
No Jadeja? Really? In all seriousness, Jadeja in place of Kuldeep adds a lot more depth to the batting without taking much away from the bowling, plus the fielding of course. Not trolling, interested in your thoughts.

The world knows you're feeding your ego but that's okay, you're not the first one doing that.
Besides, Jadeja makes a better choice for Kohli than Kedar. Shami to be included and Chahal to replace Kuldeep.
