Team India is all set to tour England for three One-day Internationals, as many Twenty20 Internationals and five Test matches.

India last savoured series success in the English conditions in 2007 when they won by 1-0 (Test match). Thus, it has been 11 years since India haven’t come up good in English conditions owing to the longer format.

However, Virat Kohli-led team would like to get themselves on board against England.

Meanwhile, the No.1 ranked team India will like to give their best following their improved tour of South Africa.

Thus, we take a look at some of the issues which Indian team faced in South Africa:

Let take a look at the five issues India needs to sort out to beat England.

1. Reach England Early:

The Indian team will like to reach England well in advance before the commencement of the gruelling series. This would help them in preparing better for the English conditions.

However, India had reached the Rainbow Nation ten days prior to the first Test match which was not enough. Thus, they had to pay the price for the late arrival.

Consequently, India will like to arrive in England to get acclimatized to the English conditions. However, the limited-overs series before the Test matches will help India in preparing better.

2. Play few practice matches:

Team India made the huge mistake of refusing to play practice matches in South Africa. However, Indian team gave more importance to practicing in the nets which didn’t eventually come up good for them.

India is scheduled to play some practice matches. Ergo, the players will get some game time in the English conditions.

Moreover, it is pivotal for the players to get the game time before the Test series. Thus, the practice session in the nets cannot do the job for the visitors.

3. Batting unit needs to deliver the goods:

It is always known that Indian batting is better than its bowling. However, it was the other way around in South Africa.

The pace battery was able to scalp sixty wickets in the three matches however the batting unit lagged well behind.

Subsequently, there was no support provided to Indian skipper Virat Kohli in the batting line-up. The middle order had failed to come up roses in South Africa.

Thus, it would be pivotal that Indian team fires on all cylinders in the English conditions.

4. Get the selection right:

The Indian team management wasn’t able to get their selection right in the series against South Africa.

They had surprisingly dropped their best overseas Test batsman Ajinkya Rahane based on his limited-overs form.

Furthermore, the think tank dropped Bhuvneshwar Kumar despite his good performance in the opening Test match at Cape Town.

Thus, it would be imperative to get the right combination in all the matches depending on the conditions.

5. Introduce wrist spinners:

The Indian team has gained a lot after they have introduced wrist spinners in the limited overs form.

It is known fact that the aggressive wrist spinners can get spin on any kind of track.

Thus, India might want to include Kuldeep Yadav into their playing XI. The mystery chinaman can be an X-factor in the English conditions.

Moreover, England players haven’t played him much.
