Foreign Cricketers Who Married Indian Women;  Over the years, we came across foreign cricketers being in love and marrying the Indian girls. A few of them just been friends while a few ended up marrying each other. The latest to enter the chart is the Pakistani fast bowler Hasan Ali, who married Shamia Arzo of Haryana, India.

There are a few couples, who defied all the odds, which came on their way to successfully carry on with their life. A couple of marriages created a lot of ruckus in the media, however, they were brave enough in overtaking all of those to lead a successful life. – Glenn Turner married Sukhinder Kaur:

The New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Turner is one of the foreigners, who married an Indian girl. Glenn Turner got married to Sukhinder Kaur on July in 1973. The lady is also popularly known as Sukhi Turner and has been an important figure in New Zealand Politics. The couple is proud parents to two wonderful children. They are still together blossoming the love between them.

– Zaheer Abbas married Rita Luthra:

The former Pakistan batsman, who is known for his achievements on the field with his willow is also one of the cricketers to fell in love with the Indian women. Zaheer Abbas met Rita in 1980. Rita used to study interior designing in the United Kingdom and Zaheer used to play for English county Gloucestershire, where they met.

They got married in 1988. After marriage, Rita is now known as Samina Abbas. The couple didn’t face any opposition as Pakistan cricketer’s father was friends with Rita’s father, late KC Luthra.

– Mohsin Khan married Reena Roy:

The former Pakistan opener also takes a part of the chart. Apart from his cricketing career,  Mohsin acted in as many as 13 Bollywood films. It was the time when he met Reena Roy. They both fell in love with each other and after a lot of gossips in the media, they married each other.

Both the people attracted attention and gossip but, when it became the gossip reached new heights. The reason for the gossip was that this love affair defeated those political barriers between Pakistan and India. They had a lovely child but unfortunately, the marriage didn’t last long, as they took a divorce.

– Mike Brearley Married Mana Sarabhai:

Mike Brearley, one of the most celebrated captains in the history of cricket and famous for leading England in 1981 Ashes victory. He tied the knot to Mana Sarabhai. Currently, Brearley and Mana are settled in London and have two children.

Mike Brearley met Mana Sarabhai during England’s tour of India in 1976-77. Mana is the daughter of Gautam Sarabhai, a prosperous businessman from Ahmedabad, and nephew of Dr Vikram Sarabhai, father of India’s space programme.

– Muttiah Muralitharan Married Madhimalar:

The former Sri Lanka great Muttiah Muralitharan went back to his roots when it comes to marriage. He married a Chennai girl named Madhimalar, who is the daughter of Nithya and S. Ramamurthy. After meeting in a formal traditional way amidst both the families, both of them liked each other and they got married in the next four months itself. They have two children now and are living happily together.

– Shoaib Malik Married Sania Mirza:

It really broke the heart of many fans in India, as Sania Mirza was a crush for many individuals, especially, in Southern states of India. Sania Mirza who was the face of Indian tennis decided to marry another sportsperson from the neighbouring country. Their wedding though was marred by controversies.

After cancelling her engagement with a childhood friend, she later fell in love with Shoaib and married him. There were speculations of him being already married to a girl from Hyderabad too. The two have been happily married for about four years now. They recently gave birth to a baby boy.

It is a unique love story of the duo. Vivian Richards and Neena Gupta were in a relationship for quite a period of time in the past and also had a child. Though the two never got married as Sir Vivian was already a much married man, they never thought there was any need to keep their relationship under wraps either. Their child Masaba has faced a lot of criticism but coped with all of them to become the best.

– Shaun Tait married Mashoom Singha:

The fast bowler from Australia also fell in love with an Indian Lady. The flamboyant cricketer married a Miss Earth India of 2001 and leading a successful life after a big fat wedding.

Tait met Mashoom Singha during the 2010 Indian Premier League when he was playing for Rajasthan Royals. The two went around for four years before Tait proposed to his lady love in Paris and got married in June 2014 in Mumbai.

– Hasan Ali Married Shamia Arzoo

The latest cricketer to enter into the chart is Hasan Ali. The fast bowler from Pakistan tied the knot to an Indian lady from Haryana Shamia Arzoo. According to reports, Hasan Ali met Shamia a year ago in Dubai and their friendship had grown since.

As for Shamia Arzoo, she is an engineer and hails from Chandeni village of Nuh district in Haryana. She completed her B-Tech in Aeronautical Engineering from Manav Rachna University, Gurgaon. According to a report from the Times of India, her family is happy she is marrying the person she likes.
