As the gap between MS Dhoni’s last international match keeps increasing, the question about his future keeps compounding. While MS Dhoni would ply his trade for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 2020 IPL season, it does not provide clarity regarding his international future. But former Indian wicketkeeper Vijay Dahiya has a different take on the same.

MS Dhoni’s last international match was against New Zealand in the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup. He scored a battling fifty before a run-out from Martin Guptill removed him and dashed India’s hopes of making it to the final. Following that, the keeper-batsman took a short break and trained too but never made himself available for international commitments.

While most of his compatriots either remain unclear about his future or opine MS Dhoni would not play further, Vijay Dahiya states that the 39-year old is an unpredictable character.

The former Indian cricketer also said that whenever Indian cricket is taken into account, the veteran would always remain in the scheme of things. Dahiya was confident that Jharkhand cricketer is not done with the game yet.

I think if someone lives with him (MS Dhoni) for 30 years, then also that person doesn’t know what MS Dhoni is thinking and what he’s going to do next. That is MS for you. Whenever you’re going to talk about Indian cricket, you’ll definitely have a chapter or a mention as far as MS Dhoni is concerned. And with a character like him, he’s not finished yet,” the 47-year old told Sportskeeda in an exclusive chat.

MS Dhoni’s CSK would depart for UAE earlier than others to partake in the extravaganza. The UAE has received the nod as hosts due to the pandemic situation significantly safer there compared to India. The 39-year old has captained the yellow army since inception of the tournament, guiding them to three titles so far.

He has served as the captain in 174 games, winning 104 out of them and suffering 69 defeats. In 190 games, the right-handed batsman has 4431 runs at 42, striking at 137.82. The keeper-batsman’s side finished as the runners-up the previous occasion, losing to Mumbai Indians by one run.
