A day after a BJP MLA criticised Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma for getting married in Italy and called Kohli an anti-nationalist, discarded Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir has come in defence of the cricketer and has said that politicians should not interfere into anyone’s personal life. Virat Kohli with Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma in a private ceremony in Italy is one of the most talked about topic on the internet and politicians have made the marriage a national issue.
However, personalities like Gambhir have come in the couples defence and has backed their decision of getting married at a place of their choice instead of worrying about what the politicians would say. Gambhir in an interview with ‘Times Now’ channel said:
“It is completely their personal matter and choice and nobody should comment on this. Politicians should be more careful while making such comment.”
If an issue raised over the venue of their wedding was not enough, another BJP leader from Anantnag, Rafiq Wani posed a question on the couple’s honeymoon destination and said they should have come to Kashmir and boosted their tourism. He said:
“We have such a huge country of 125 crores citizen, if he wanted to get married he could have got married here. There is no issue that he has got married in abroad, it is his choice but for a honeymoon the most beautiful place which is called ‘Heaven on Earth’ is Kashmir. So they should have had their honeymoon here. Then our tourism would have gotten a boost also.”
The couple will host the reception in Delhi on 21st December will be attended by celebrities like Shahrukh Khan and Sachin Tendulkar.
