Gautam Gambhir Reveals Why He Helped The Pakistani Girl Get Visa For Treatment

Gautam Gambhir’s beautiful gesture for a six-year old Pakistan girl on Saturday left many mighty surprised. The ex-cricketer-turned-politician has always been critical of Pakistan. In recent times, he did not leave a single chance to take shots at the arch-rivals. From calling for boycott of Pakistan in the World Cup, mocking Shahid Afridi to slamming Imran Khan, Gautam Gambhir has never shied away from speaking his mind out on Pakistan.

However, on Saturday, he kept aside all the rivalry to come forward and help a Pakistani girl. Gautam Gambhir helped organise visa for the Pakistani girl and her parents to make sure the child undergo heart surgery in India at the earliest. And while Gautam Gambhir’s deed is really noble, it did surprise many since he is widely seen as someone who doesn’t like Pakistan at all.

Well, Gautam Gambhir later cleared the air on why he came forward to help the Pakistani family. The former India batsman said that he only has problem with Pakistan and its terror activities. The World Cup-winner also said he is happy to help the girl getting her treatment in India.

“I have always maintained one thing that I have problem with Pakistan govt, ISI & the terrorist outfits that are there in Pakistan, but if the 6-year-old girl can get treated in India, what better can happen,” Gambhir said.

“I requested EAM & I am thankful that he has accepted the request and granted the visa. I am thankful to the PM & Home Minister too. Hopefully, she can get treated well,” added Gambhir while speaking to ANI.

Gambhir, nonetheless, is well known for his helping nature. He has his own charity through which he has taken the responsibility of education of martyrs’ children. He also has a community kitchen in Delhi.
