Former India opener turned politician Gautam Gambhir has welcomed Yuvraj Singh’s plan.  The former India all-rounder decided to make a comeback for Punjab after spending a few months with the youngsters in the side and teaching them the ropes of playing cricket. His decision comes a year after announcing his retirement.

Gambhir, who shared the national team dressing room with Yuvraj, said that it is his personal decision and everyone likes to see him play. He also added that if he is fit enough and motivated to play then he is most welcome.

“It’s his personal decision and each and everyone loves seeing Yuvi play. If he wants to play for Punjab so why not? You can’t force a cricketer to start or to end and if he wants to come back from retirement and play with motivation, he is most welcome,” Gautam Gambhir told ANI.

Yuvraj Singh took the decision of making a comeback after he found out that he is still hitting the ball well in a few net sessions with the Punjab youngsters. With the comeback, the southpaw, aims to help his state team win the championship. He had also praised the young Punjab talent Shubman Gill, who has already played for India.
