India’s middle-order batsman Hanuma Vihari is currently on cloud nine after successful outings in the two-match Test series against West Indies. The Andhra batsman recently said that he is ready to take up the ODI challenge as well if the management feels he is the right candidate.

Vihari finished as the highest run-scorer against the Caribbeans as India made a good start to the ICC World Test Championship. Hanuma Vihari returned with one century and two fifties as he provided solidity in India’s middle-order.

The young batsman scaled a few milestones in the recently-concluded series. The 25-year-old said that he is also ready for the 50-overs challenge but wants to concentrate on Test cricket. Vihari is aware that scoring runs in the red-ball cricket consistently can only open doors for him in the ODIs.

“It”s up to the selectors and management. Whenever they want me, I am ready for the challenge. What is in my hands is Test cricket and if I can keep performing I can open the doors for one dayers but it”s up to them,” Vihari said.

Furthermore, Hanuma Vihari also added that he felt nice to finish as the highest run-scorer among top-class batters like Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara. Vihari also said that he wants to with his job and help his side to continue the winning run. Since making his debut in 2018 against England, he has only grown from strength to strength.

“They have done it for the last 7-8 years so I don’t want to compare or something, but it’s a good feeling to contribute and help the team. I had a substantial score in both the Test matches. It feels great and I just want to keep contributing. The numbers don’t matter you want to contribute for the team and help them win,” Vihari concluded.
