Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of Indian Women’s Cricket Team, has heaped praise on young explosive batswoman, Shafali Verma. Shafali has been the emerging star of the Indian team and has smashed every other opposition in the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

It is due to her heroics that India have been the most dominant team of the tournament so far. They have qualified for the semi-finals having a 100 per cent win record. Shafali has bossed every opposition that has come in India’s way so far.

She has become a global star now and she recently moved up to the first position in the ICC T20 Batswomen Rankings.

Shafali has achieved a lot of praise for her performances from the Indian and global cricket experts and fans. She will be a key part of team India in the upcoming series and tournaments.

The 16-year-old is famous for her explosive batting as she has threatened and smashed the very best in the business.

“She’s very naughty, gets so much happiness and positivity to the team, always wants to enjoy it,” Kaur said.

“And when batting with her she’s motivating you and releasing pressure, that kind of player you need in your team. Whoever is playing, wants to play for the country and give their best, she’s enjoying for the team,” she added.

Harmanpreet also reflected on the team’s bonding and how they learn from each other after having stayed together for a long time now.

“Now this team has been together for a long time, we learn a lot from each other, learn a lot of cricket. It makes it easier for players such as Shafali because when anybody enters the team, they see everyone is working together,” she said.

India will take on England in the first semi-final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup this year. The game will be played on March 05 at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

Later in the day, the second semi-final of the tournament will also be played on the same venue between Australia and South Africa.
