Hasan Ali Reacts After Beating Virat Kohli's Yo-Yo Test Score
Pakistan speedster Hasan Ali has played down the comparisons with Virat Kohli after he recently surpassed his Yo Yo test score.
In a recent training camp in Lahore, Hasan Ali emerged as the top performer in the Yo Yo test. The right-arm pacer achieved a score of 20, bettering the score of Indian captain Virat Kohli. As per reports, Kohli’s best score at the Yo Yo test has ranged between 19.1 to 19.3.
And as soon as the news came out, it caused a huge stir on the social media. But what most of the fans did not know was that both India and Pakistan had set different benchmark for the test. India have set their minimum benchmark at 16.1, while Pakistan have kept their minimum scores at 17.4.
Fans did not take long to start comparing Hasan with Kohli. However, Hasan has played down all the comparisons and said the India skipper is fitter.
“People might be comparing my fitness results with Kohli, but he is fitter anyway,” he told the media.
“He is a world class player, he is our senior and a legend. There is nothing like I am competing with him. But I have enhanced my focus to be fitter which is anyway required for me. As a youngster you have to look after yourself properly and keep yourself fit. I want to play Test cricket and that’s my ambition. Similarly like my T20I and ODI performance, I want to carry on my good work in Tests as well and with my fitness, I can go long way with it,” he added.
Meanwhile, Hasan will have a chance to showcase his potential in the upcoming Asia Cup. He, however, will not get a chance to bowl at Kohli who has been rested for the tournament. Pakistan and India will lock horns on September 19.
