Former South African batsman Herschelle Gibbs has stated that Indian skipper Virat Kohli is his all-time favourite Indian cricketer. Virat Kohli is a modern-day legend of the game of cricket. He is the most prolific batsman across all formats of the game. He is also on the road to become one of the most successful Indian captains of all time.

Virat Kohli recently became the captain with most T20I bilateral series wins (10) after India beat New Zealand 5-0 in the recently concluded series. He surpassed the Ex-South African captain Faf du Plessis in the process. Under his captaincy, India is currently the number 1 Test team in the world. Now, Virat Kohli-led Indian side has also won eight consecutive limited-overs series since the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Herschelle Gibbs has made it clear that Virat Kohli is his favourite Indian cricketer of all time. Replying to a tweet, Gibbs has left no room for speculation as to who is his favourite Indian player. Having played against the likes of Indian legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni and many more, this statement goes on to prove how highly ranked Virat Kohli is.

Virat absolutely deserves the honour as he has been a legend of the game. In Tests, he has played a total of 84 games and has scored 7202 runs at an average of 54.97. In ODIs, he has a prolific record of playing 245 games and scoring 11792 runs at an average of 59.85 in the process. Virat has represented India in 82 T20I games and has scored 2794 runs at an average of 50.80. Currently, he is the only batsman in the world to have a 50-plus average in all the three formats of the game.
