Herschelle Gibbs Wants Virat Kohli To Join Him In The Gym As Quarantine Partner

Now that the world as we know it is in a lockdown, due to the coronavirus pandemic, former South African great Herschelle Gibbs in a funny banter on Twitter, revealed he’d like to have India skipper Virat Kohli as his quarantine partner in the gym.

As the outbreak of Coronavirus Pandemic continues to threaten the world, people are being advised to stay in their homes, and self-isolate themselves, in order to curb the spread of the contagious virus. Owing to the dangerous situation, the majority of sporting events have been affected, postponed, or suspended lately.

Things can get a little boring in the isolation period, so ICC posted an Infographic on Twitter asking people to name their quarantine partner as per their month of birth. Gibbs took note of the tweet, and being born in February, revealed that his quarantine partner would be none other than Indian skipper Kohli.

The 46-year-old who represented South Africa in 90 Tests, 248 ODIs and 23 T20Is tried to lighten up the mood of his fans, in the grim situation people are facing due to Coronavirus. Reacting to a tweet by ESPN Cricinfo, Gibbs replied that he’d like to call-upon Kohli as his quarantine partner.

While the Indian captain is yet to reply to Gibbs, we are smelling a funny banter from miles away. And that’s not all, Kohli was recently on the receiving end of praises from former Pakistan legend Javed Miandad as well.

The 62-year-old former cricketer revealed that he was asked by fans to name his favourite Indian player, and he took the opportunity to lavish praise on Kohli.

“I was asked who is the best in the Indian cricket team, so I choose Virat Kohli,” Miandad said on his Youtube channel.

He continued, “I don’t have to say much, his performance itself tells a lot. People have to admit this as stats are visible. Virat performed really well in South Africa; even on an uneven wicket, he scored a hundred. You cannot say he is scared of fast-bowlers or he cannot play on bouncy pitches or he doesn’t play spinners well. He is a clean hitter. Look at his shots, it feels so good to watch him bat. He has class.”
