Hima Das Names Sachin Tendulkar Her 'Role-Model'

Ace India sprinter Hima Das on Sunday named batting legend Sachin Tendulkar as her role-model. Hima Das maintained an excellent track record last year by clinching five gold medals. Her top podium finish came at the Nove Mesto Athletics Meet, Tabor Athletic Meet, Klado Athletic Meet, Kunto Athletics Meet, and Poznan Athletics Grand Prix.
Sachin Tendulkar has been idolised by many cricketers but in a first an ace sprinter has called him a role-model. He was a nightmare many bowlers would often refer as difficult to dislodge. And his numbers justify his status. The 47-year-old continues to be the leading run-scorer in in international cricket with 34, 357 runs — 15,921 in Tests, 18426 in ODIs and 10 from a solitary T20I.

Hima Das said Sachin Tendulkar is her role-model. The Dhing-express also said that she ended up crying when she saw him for the first time and it was a big moment in her life which she would never forget. Das also said she learnt a lot from him and he is down to earth.
“My role model is Sachin Tendulkar, I still remember talking to him. When I saw him, I ended up crying. It was the best moment for me. Meeting your role model is a big moment for everyone and no one can forget that,” Hima Das said.

In 2010, against South Africa Tendulkar became first international cricketer to smash a double hundred. Only if the century of centuries in international cricket was not enough – it was in March, 2012 that he achieved his feat, a record that will need to some taking to be surpassed.
In 2011, he finally achieved his biggest dream of lifting the World Cup, after making appearances in the marquee tournament for a record sixth time.
