After winning the T20I series by a margin of 2-1, India will set their eyes on the One-Day series against England. In fact, India will have an opportunity to leapfrog England. The visitors can claim back the numero uno position in the ICC ODI rankings.
If India goes on to clean sweep the hosts, then India will occupy the summit of the ODI rankings. Thus, it would be a golden opportunity for the Virat Kohli men to retain their top position in the 50-overs format.

There would be a chance for India to leapfrog England.
Meanwhile, if England goes on to win by the same margin of 3-0 against India, then they will have a 10 point lead at the top of the ladder.
India had lost out on their top position after the annual update which was held on May 2 by the International Cricket Council.
However, it is well known that it is not going to be an easy road for the Indian team as England is playing some outstanding 50-overs cricket.

Furthermore, Pakistan will face Zimbabwe in a five-match ODI series. Men in Green will have to win by a margin of 4-1 or better to ensure that they do not slip further from their fifth rank.
Similarly, South Africa will have to win by a margin of 5-0 against Sri Lanka to make sure that they do not get demoted in the rankings.
Meanwhile, India will lock horns with England in the first One-Dayer at Nottingham, Trent Bridge. Recently England had posted a gargantuan target of 481 against Australia at the same venue.
