Australia batting ace Steve Smith is being widely regarded as the best Test batsman in the world right now and also one of the best of all time. Well, his performance and stats pretty much prove that. No batsman has been as consistent as the former Australia skipper in the longest format of the game.

Not only in Australia, he has proved himself in all the parts of the world including India and England which are considered as two of the toughest places to tour. In the 2015 Ashes series in England, he scored a couple of tons, including a double century at Lord’s while the 2017 tour of India saw him score as many as three centuries in four games.

Last year, he further enhanced his reputation as the best Test batsman in the world with a stunning performance in the Ashes. Despite returning to Test cricket after more than a year, the right-handed batsman scored a staggering 774 runs in just 7 innings with the help of three centuries and as many fifties.

No surprises that Steve Smith is widely regarded as the best in the world. He is also currently the top-ranked Test batsman. But while the Australia batting star might be the toughest batsman to bowl to for current bowlers, former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar believes that it would be an easy task for him to dismiss the batsman.

Shoaib Akhtar was responding to a tweet from a news outlet which pitched players of different generation against each other and asked the fans to pick their favourite battle. Shoaib Akhtar was pitched against Steve Smith but he probably found it amusing as he said it would take  him just four balls to dismiss the Aussie, writing:

“Even today, 3 hurting bouncers and i can dismiss @stevesmith49 on the 4th ball. Lol”
