Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has raised a number of eyebrows in recent times due to his comments against India. Known for his outspoken nature, the former Pakistan international has been very vocal regarding his views against India and has faced the backlash on social media.

Time and again, he has also been involved in war of words with former India opener Gautam Gambhir. Recently, he landed in hot water because of his views on Kashmir. A video had gone viral on social media where he could be seen speaking against India and PM Narendra Modi during a visit to illegally occupied part of Kashmir.

He had faced severe backlash for the same. In fact, Yuvraj Singh and Harbjahan Singh had said they don’t want to have any kind of relationship with the former Pakistan allrounder.

Well, Shahid Afridi recently spoke about his comments against India and stated that he would not shy away from expressing his opinions. He justified his comments and insisted that he just spoke the truth.

“One should always speak the truth, no matter what happens. I believe humanity is above everything else which is why I don’t shy away from voicing my opinion, even if it involves India,” Shahid Afridi was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Shahid Afridi on Babar Azam:

The former cricketer also spoke about Pakistan’s batting mainstay Babar Azam and stated he will soon single-handedly start to win matches for Pakistan. Azam usually gets pitted against India skipper Virat Kohli, considering their impeccable playing styles and incredible consistency across formats.

“Babar Azam is the backbone of Pakistan team and I don’t think he feels the pressure of being constantly compared with Virat Kohli,” he said. “I’m hopeful that Babar will start winning matches for Pakistan single-handedly, soon.”
