ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2019: Average Age Of Every Team

England and Wales are ready to host the 2019 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup from 30th May to 14th July. It will be the 12th edition of this tournament where a total of ten teams will participate. These ten teams are England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Windies.

All the participating teams have already announced the 15-member squad for this tournament. Every side is ready to compete in this tournament as everyone is targeting to win the Cricket World Cup trophy.

Before the beginning of this tournament, we are here to discuss the average age of every participating team.

 

Afghanistan

The total combined age of Afghanistan 15-member squad is 408 years and the team’s average age is 27.20 years. Afghanistan will start the tournament as the youngest side. Mohammad Nabi (34 years) will be their oldest player and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (18 years) will be their youngest player in the 2019 CWC.

Bangladesh

The Bangladesh national cricket team has the average age of 27.27 years as their combined team age for the upcoming tournament is 409 years. Captain Mashrafe Mortaza (35 years) will begin the tournament as their oldest player. On the other hand, Mehidy Hasan (21 years) is their youngest member in this squad.

Pakistan

The 1992 World Cup winners Pakistan will start the upcoming World Cup with the combined age of 410 years and the average age of 27.33 years. Mohammad Hafeez (38 years) is their oldest player while Shaheen Afridi (19 years) beat Mohammad Hasnain (19 years) in the youngest players list by just one-day margin.

Windies

The two-time World Cup winners Windies (formerly known as West Indies) will begin their new World Cup journey with the combined age of 420 years and the average age of 28 years. The 39-year-old Chris Gayle is their oldest player and the 22-year-old Oshane Thomas is their youngest player.

New Zealand

New Zealand was the runners-up in the previous World Cup. Their average age for the upcoming World Cup is 29 years as their combined age is 435 years. In this World Cup squad, Ross Taylor (35 years) is their oldest player and Ish Sodhi (26 years) is their youngest cricketer.

Australia

The defending champions Australia will start the tournament with the combined age of 441 years and the average of 29.40 years. Shaun Marsh (35 years) and Jhye Richardson (22 years) are their oldest and youngest players respectively.

England

England will play this tournament as the hosts. After Alex Hales’ exclusion from the squad, the 14-member English squad’s combined age is 413 years and their average team age is 29.50 years. Pacer Liam Plunkett (34 years) is their oldest member and the bowling all-rounder Tom Curran (24 years) is their youngest player in this World Cup squad.

India

The two-time World Cup winners India will begin this tournament with the combined age of 443 years and the average age of 29.53 years. The 37-year-old MS Dhoni is their oldest cricketer and the 24-year-old Kuldeep Yadav is their youngest cricketer in this squad.

South Africa

The four-time semi-finalists South Africa’s average age for the upcoming World Cup is 29.53 years as their combined age is 443 years. The 40-year-old leg-spinner Imran Tahir will play this tournament as the oldest player. Meanwhile, the 23-year-old pacer Lungi Ngidi will play this tournament as the youngest South African player.

 

Sri Lanka

The 1996 World Cup winners Sri Lanka will play the upcoming World Cup as the oldest side. For the forthcoming tournament, their total combined age is 449 years and their average age is 29.93 years. In this squad, Jeevan Mendis (38 years) and Avishka Fernando (21 years) are their oldest and youngest players respectively.
