Rohit did not give any chance to any bowler to mark his stay in the game, and he was hitting everything out of the ground which came his way. It was just the second T20I where Rohit was leading the side, but he showed no nerves and his experience of leading Mumbai Indians to three IPL title was quite reflective.

Apart from batting, he also led the team well on captaincy front as well and showed why is rated as the most talented batsman around.

While Rohit was receiving congratulatory wishes from all around the world, ICC, the parent body of cricket, could not resist themselves from responding to Rohit’s innings cheekily. Here is how ICC reacted to Rohit’s innings –

Rohit’s innings left everyone in disbelief that how could a batsman start his innings right in the fifth gear?

Rohit’s innings meant team India posted a total of 260 on the board. Sri Lanka was never in contention to win the game, and they were bundled out on 172 in 17.2 overs, thus going down by 88 runs.

The spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal shone for the team and shared seven wickets between themselves. However, they also went for 104 runs in their combined eight overs, which is surely one of the things to worry about.

With this win in Indore’s run fest, India gained an unassailable lead of 2-0 over the visitors. The third T20I of the series will be played on December 24 at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, where the home side will look to whitewash Sri Lanka.
