ICC U-19 World Cup 2018: Twitter Reacts as Rahul Dravid Inspires India to Fourth U19 Title
Updated - 24 Apr 2019, 01:18 AM
India lifted the under-19 World Cup title for the fourth time, as they defeated Australia by eight wickets in the final of the tournament at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui, Tauranga.
India’s opener Manjot Kalra scored a flawless hundred to take India past the 217 runs target set by the Aussies after they had won the toss and chose to bat first. The Indian fans are going over the massive feat achieved by the young cricketers.
Much of the credit should be given to India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid who has been instrumental in guiding the young boys towards victory. Former Indian captain and a legend Dravid has been India’s U-19 coach for the last couple of years.
India enjoyed a dominant run throughout the tournament, as they defeated every team they met and won the matches by comfortable margins. A lot of the credit should be given to the effort out in by Dravid who has made India one of the strongest team at the youth level.
Twitteratis were in all praises for the legendary batsman after India triumphed in the tournament. Let’s have a look.
For me the scene of the day is the entire bunch jumping behind Rahul Dravid while he is on air!! That’s some amount of space and freedom of expression in the young team! Kudos to Rahul for that.

“Hopefully its not a win that defines them. Hopefully they go on to bigger and better things.” Rahul Dravid. Front foot forward, eases into that drive and the ball pings the boundary rope. #ICCU19CWC

What a humble man Rahul Dravid is – speaking about how the win should be about the players & not him & how the focus should be on the great work the players have done rather than himself #U19CWC

Moment of the day was when Rahul Dravid said ‘I‘m embarrassed to get so much of credit’, He will always take blame for failures, but give credit to the team for success. Today as well, being the coach of world champion team, he quietly walks behind the shadow of the team. #Legend
