Former Indian National Cricket team player Ajay Jadeja has picked former skipper MS Dhoni as his skipper for the upcoming ICC World Cup in England and Wales starting from May 30. Meanwhile, India have started their last leg of preparation ahead of the showpiece event with the series against Australia.

However, all the sides have started their preparations with a few months to go. The first ODI of the series kicked off as the bowlers did a good job to restrict Australia for 236 runs. Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, and Kuldeep Yadav picked two wickets each to contain the Aussie batters. Shami’s return to form will be a massive advantage for the men in blues ahead of the World Cup.

Meanwhile, with the preparation running in full swing, former cricketer Ajay Jadeja has named his World Cup squad. Jadeja has named the experienced duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin in his 15-member team. While Jadeja has been in the fringes of the ODI squad, it has been quite a significant amount of time Ashwin has not played the white ball cricket. But Ajay Jadeja has gone for the experience – who represented the men in blues in the 2011 World Cup.

Dhoni will be the skipper

In addition to, Jadeja has named MS Dhoni as the skipper – the former cricketer feels Dhoni is the main strategist in the team as thus he has named him as the skipper of the side. He has also included Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik in the squad despite them being inconsistent in recent times. However, the batting line up looks quite settled with KL Rahul as the backup opener to Shikhar Dhawan.
