England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had decided to drop star opener, Alex Hales, from all the squad ahead of the start of another international season, in the wake of a 21-day ban for using recreational drugs. Despite that, Hales said that he will be cheering for England and will hope that Eoin Morgan-led side wins the illustrious title this summer.

Will be cheering for England: Hales

Meanwhile, England have made three changes to their preliminary squad. Jofra Archer, James Vince, and Liam Dawson have made it into the final 15 while David Willey and Joe Denly have to watch it from the sidelines. Vince came in place of Alex Hales as the third opener alongside Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy. The star opener returned in Royal London One-Day Cup and looked in sublime touch. Next up, Hales will feature for the Barbados Tridents in the upcoming Caribbean Premier League.

Ales Hales, who dumped red-ball cricket, to concentrate on the limited overs, said that he is ready to go through the process to return to the England team. The English team will play a lot of cricket in the next 12 months, and Hales wants to stay ready for a power-packed year. The 30-year-old batsman has represented England in 70 ODIs and 60 T20Is scoring 2419 and 1644 runs respectively. Hales will also have a go during the T20 Blast for Nottinghamshire.

“I’ve got a few things to do with the ECB – there’s a process to go through and I’ll start training, I guess. Once I start playing again the next 12 months will be really busy so I’m going to enjoy the mixture of some downtime and then start getting prepared for the Blast,” he concluded.
