Indian National Cricket Team have finished their preparation for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 with a win over Bangladesh in the second warm-up match. Ahead of their campaign opener against South Africa, fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar is keen to begin the tournament with a win.

Meanwhile, the Men in Blues have been pretty dominant over the last two years before going down against Australia at home earlier this year. Virat Kohli & Co went down 3-2 from being 2-0 up to register their first series loss at home under Kohli’s captaincy. They also went down against New Zealand in the first warm-up game before making a strong comeback against Bangladesh in the second and final practice match.

India have a good record over South Africa as they defeated them 5-1 in a six-match series in 2018. However, the Proteas were without their star players during that series, which made the job easy for the Asian giants. Bhuvneshwar Kumar said that they would like to start with a win; however, they have not made any plans as of yet. The Indian cricketers will have a week in hand to prepare for their opening World Cup tie.

“You always want to start with a win in the World Cup but right now I cannot say what we will be thinking or planning. We have almost a week. When we will practice and have meetings then we will decide what we need to do against them (South Africa) and their individual players,” Bhuvneshwar said.

Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is still not sure about his place in the playing XI. India have brought three specialist fast bowlers in Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami alongside Bhuvneshwar. The veteran fast bowler said that all three of them seek help from each other when needed and concluded saying that he has a lot of expectation from himself with the bat. The cricketer from Uttar Pradesh has played some crucial knocks in his previous tours to England.

India play South Africa on June 5 at the Rose Bowl Cricket Ground in Southampton.
