India’s pack-leader Bhuvneshwar Kumar had to walk off the field in the fifth over the innings when he pulled his hamstring while delivering the ball. Kumar was beating Imam-ul-Haq hands down as he was taking the ball away from the left-hander. However, the fast bowler felt the discomfort after delivering the fourth ball of the fifth over.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar had a chat with Virat Kohli and the rest of the team players before walking off the field. In fact, Kumar’s good work didn’t go in vain as Vijay Shankar who was brought on by Virat Kohli plumbed Imam-ul-Haq on the first ball he bowled.

This could be a big blow for India.

Thus, India has put their noses in front as they have got the first wicket. However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar had walked off comfortably and he should be back to action in a while. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also had a chat with Indian team physio Patrick Farhart at the boundary lines. The right-arm fast bowler has been India’s best bowler and it would be a huge blow if he is ruled out of this match.

Kumar had scalped three wickets against Australia and he had snared two wickets against the Proteas in the opening match. Hence, Virat Kohli will hope that the injury is not serious and Kumar should come back to bowl.

Meanwhile, India has posted a huge total of 336 after Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and decided to bowl first. Rohit Sharma was at his best as he scored a fine knock of 140 runs from 113 balls. The right-hander completed his 24th ODI hundred which is his third in the World Cup.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scored half-centuries to boost India to 336. Kohli scored 77 whereas Rahul scored 57 runs. Mohammad Amir was the pick of the Pakistan bowlers as he took three wickets.

However, as per the latest update, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will not take any further part in the game.
