India’s head coach Ravi Shastri came up with an emotional post for New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson. Shastri praised Williamson’s composure and dignity after New Zealand’s heartbreak loss in the World Cup final. Williamson had kept his cool despite the crunching loss. In fact, Williamson was also seen giving a smile in the post-match presentation and conference.

Kane Williamson was as always gracious in defeat. It was a heartbreak for New Zealand as they didn’t have the rub of the green on their side. Consequently, Shastri praised Kane Williamson for his calm and composed behaviour.

Shastri heaps praise on Williamson.

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson is loved all over the world for his composed nature. He always plays the game in the right spirit and he is a pure gentleman. Williamson also had led New Zealand with aplomb in the World Cup. The stylish batsman scored 578 runs in the tournament which is the most for any skipper in a single edition of the World Cup. Thus, Kane Williamson was awarded the Player of the tournament.

Meanwhile, New Zealand didn’t have the rub of the green on their side in the night of the final. New Zealand had scored 17 boundaries whereas England had outnumbered their opponents as they scored 26 boundaries. It was a peculiar way of adjudging the winner but the rules were there before the match had started. Thus, it would not be prudent to take anything away from England’s win.

In fact, it is a tough pill to swallow for New Zealand team as well as their skipper Kane Williamson.

Ravi Shastri took to his Twitter account to share his thoughts. Shastri post read as, “Your composure and dignity viewing the sequence of events was remarkable. Your dignified grace and silence 48 hours since is simply remarkable. We know you have one hand on that WC. You not just Kane. You Kane and Able. God bless”.
